On Sunday the lovely Pete and Nadine got married at Rothamsted Manor. Complete with leaves and autumnal foliage the venue looked stunning as did this wonderful couple. The married in the library in front of fifty of their friends and family, who had come from all over the world to celebrate with them.
After enjoying canapés out on the lawns, they sat down for a delicious meal. By tradition from Germany the couple had to cut their way through a heart sheet before they could join the guests! They had the choice of three starters and three main courses.
To start a Salad Of Seared Duck, Pancetta, Watercress, Pink Grapefruit, Honey Lavender Dressing or Aberdeenshire Smoked Salmon, Celeriac Remoulade, Soda Bread, Watercress, Caper And Radish Salad, Orange Dressing or Roasted Vegetable Roulade, Baba Ganoush, Parmesan Water Biscuit, Coriander Oil. For main course they had either Rump Of Lamb, Mint Dauphinoise, Pistachios, Summer Vegetables, Lamb Jus or Artichoke And Red Onion Tarte Tatin, Celeriac Parmentier, Tomato Petals, Gremolata or Seared Tuna Loin, Saffron Potatoes, Green Beans, Tomato And Shallot Salsa. For dessert they choose a Trio Of Desserts of Passion Fruit Posset, Pineapple Compote, Coconut Shortbread with Dark Chocolate And Cinnamon Delice, Pistachio Cream, Clear Caramel and Apricot And Frangipane Tartlet, Gooseberry And Eldeflower Compote.
Casino tables and dancing completed the evening. A great day had by everyone at a stunning venue for a wonderful couple, Best Wishes to them both from us all.
Recently couples have been bound by restrictions on where they can marry in England and Wales, meaning they had to attend a legal ceremony at a register office before their dream day if they choose at outside blessing. This happens at lots of our venues but soon it may be a thing of the past.
Such restrictions could come to an end soon, after it was revealed a shake-up of the law will feature in Monday’s Budget.
The review will look at giving couples more choice on where they hold their wedding and could mean restrictions are lifted on al fresco locations, from gardens to beaches.
This is an amazing move forward and a boost for the wedding industry, as couples will have more flexibility to do what they want, where they want – creating the day of their dreams without the limitations that some conventional venues create.

Saturday was a memorable day for not only our lovely Bride & Groom; Andrew & Zuzanna; but for Rothamsted as we conducted our first licensed ceremony within the Manor.
Guests arrived and were seated in the Library waiting for the arrival of Zuzanna with her seven bridesmaids and very cute pageboys! St Albans Registra’s conducted the service and it was a very moving one, with readings from family and friends. Moving back through to the front of the Manor we greeted them with Prosecco and Canapés whilst the photographer captured some stunning shots.
Moving into the Great Drawing Room we served them a wedding Breakfast of Smoked Salmon, Celeriac Remoulade, Soda Bread, Watercress, Caper and Radish Salad, Orange dressing to start, followed by Blade of Beef braised in English Ale, Sticky Parsnips, Horseradish mash and Crispy Leeks. For desert they choose a trio of Sticky Toffee Pudding with Caramel Sauce; Eton Mess and Banoffee Sundae. The guests were really happy and we had some great compliments about the food!
We turned the library into a great party area, with disco and flashing lights and dance floor and had some casino tables set up in the reception. A great evening to follow a great day! We loved being involved and looking after a wonderful couple and their families and friends.
Another inspection for us on 13th September resulted in a 5* rating! Well done John and his team.

Last week we catered at Venue 360 for Easyjet’s Annual Awards. Staff from all over the world attended this night and the atmosphere was electric in the Ballroom with 250 key members very excited to be shortlisted for awards such as ‘Most Friendly Airport’!
Saturday we looked after Naomi & Aston and 162 of their lovely friends and family. They had a beautiful blessing on the lawn in front to the Tipi followed by reception drinks on the terrace. Moving into the Tipis we served them starter sharing fish platters of smoked salmon, mackerel pate, marinated tiger prawns, cornichons, capers and parsley butter and breads. They then chose our beef sharing platter for main course. Sirloin of beef served with sides of horseradish, yorkies, roast potatoes, autumnal roasted vegetables and red wine jus! It was delicious. A trio of desserts followed and tea & coffee.
Lots of love, laughter and dancing followed, a great day to be part of!
