Last night we catered for the first big event of the year, great to have all the team together and doing what we do best! Being evacuated for a faulty fire alarm during set up put the pressure on, but the team got stuck in and we still served at the planned time, the guests were unaware, true professionals!
It was a Charity Ball for 150 guests at Spirella In Letchworth raising awareness and money for ALD, a disabling life condition which attacks the nerve cells in the brain usually in young boys. The symptoms can be severe causing blindness, deafness and loss of muscle control. Heartbreaking hearing about it from sufferers loved ones and the fact that it can be diagnosed with a simple blood test. We were happy to help a very successful evening.
A 3 course dinner of Roasted Field mushroom, Toasted olive croute, crispy pancetta, peas shoots & garlic aoili for starters, followed by a main course of Chicken breast, Warm salad of chorizo, green beans, butternut and baby spinach, champ potato & maderia jus. Desserts on sharing boards of Dark chocolate torte, Mini pavlova & Glazed lemon tartlet, with tea & coffee and homemade petit fours completed the meal. We had lots of great comments about the food and speedy service!
A charity auction raised lots of money and we left as the guests were dancing away to a live band. A great evening with hopefully more awareness for ALD.
