Holiday reading!

Little holiday for all of us at KF this week, but great to check in and have this to read . . . Lovely review from last weekend at Lodge Farm.

Thanks to everyone at Kingfisher for a brilliant event, for Darryl and Rachel’s wedding. We enjoyed fantastic food of the absolute highest standard served by very professional and friendly staff. I would like to thank Laura for her superb event management, she made everything run like clockwork even though we had to make some late ad hoc changes. Her guidance was invaluable and she really helped us just enjoy the perfect day. Every dish that was served to us was top notch and I recommend Kingfisher to anyone who is looking for perfection in event catering. Thanks to all of you who gave Darryl and Rachel such a wonderful start to married life.

Well done everyone!

BBQ and Canapés

Yesterday we served a delicious feast at Rachel & Darryl’s wedding celebrations at Lodge Farm. The guests were blown away by the delicious canapés and BBQ selection. I had comment up comment about the food, well done John and David!

Canapés we served were Steak and chips with bacon ketchup; Confit Lamb Croquette, sticky red onion jam; Tempura tiger prawns with sweet chilli; Brushetta, vine tomato, pesto and Mozzarella and pesto arancini.

After drinks and canapés on the terrace the guests moved into the marquee for dinner. We placed bowls of Greek salad; Homemade coleslaw; Roasted mediterranean vegetables with lemon & garlic olive oil and Rosemary roast potatoes for the guests to help themselves to and served the BBQ ‘meats’ on platters individually to each guest. A nice way to have a BBQ but served like a traditional plated meal.

John BBQ’d Beef burgers; Three bean and coriander burgers; Honey, soy and chorizo chicken and Marinated haloumi and vegetables.

A trio of desserts followed with tea & coffee and petit fours. With a ceilidh band and drinks flowing the guests enjoyed themselves way into the evening. A lovely day for a lovely family, so glad to have been part of it.

Summer holidays!

So setting up for Rachael & Darryl’s day tomorrow at Lodge Farm, the Kingfisher kids came along to help! Cost me a Macdonalds, but hey they are new KF staff in the future! Even folded napkins better than some of the boys!!

Stunning venues in the sunshine!

Another busy weekend for the KF team, with three weddings across the countryside at stunning venues; Beechwood Park, Hitchin Lavender Farm and Lodge Farm in King’s Walden. The sun shone, the brides were beautiful, the guests happy and the food was exceptional!

With no less than 15 different canapés served to over 300 guests, a three course dinner consisting of Confit Lamb shoulder to start, followed by Seared loin of tuna at Beechwood Park, a signature BBQ at Hitchin Lavender Farm and homemade beef, guiness & mushroom pies and ale battered fish and chunky chips served at Lodge Farm. All 3 had a trio of desserts, and all different! That was a lot of prep boys!

Faultless! We cannot thank Laura and the Kingfisher team enough. Not only did they manage to create a menu so delicious and memorable that our guests are still talking about it almost two months later. They made us feel like they were truly invested in our enjoyment of the day! We felt genuinely cared for and no request was too much. Incredible food, considerate staff and a seriously good event manager – took the control freak out of me and made our day an absolute dream! Lets do it again sometime haha, thanks always Lauren and Robbie x
