A wedding menu with a difference!

Finally the sun is shining and wedding season has really begun. With three weddings across the Hertfordshire countryside yesterday, we knew it would be a busy weekend for us.

Myself and David looked after Laura & Nic at the beautiful Sandrigebury Farm in St Albans. The marquee was dressed with miles of homemade bunting and lots of jam jars of wild flowers, with the sides all open it was a perfect summer setting.

The guests arrived to chilled Prosecco and canapes served by our smiley staff, and relaxed in the afternoon sunshine looking over the beautiful Hertforshire countryside.

Dinner was called and started with a plated starter of new season asparagus wrapped in prosciutto with hollandaise, baby herbs and red pepper tapenade.

The groom thenstood up and called a guest from each table and handed them a named apron and told them to go to the catering tent. Here we met them and gave them a chefs hat; a board containing a sirloin of beef; and a carving knife and fork! These were the ‘carvers’. They made their way back to their seats to applause and a loud raucous atmosphere!

Great fun element which includes all the guests, a delight to watch, some are very good carvers and take it very seriously, some looked like they were slicing doorstops of bread!

Speeches followed, toasted with homemade sloe gin, and then an ice cream bike arrived for dessert!

A lovely menu with a difference!

An evening of dancing and drinking followed, with a few baskets of bacon baps just to keep everyone’s stamina up!

A little wedding of our own

Yesterday Dan, John and I actually attended a wedding! Makes a change from serving at one!

The lovely Mark & Katherine renewed their vows at a beautiful service in Tring with close family and friends, with a reception at Mark’s Mum’s beautiful house. Speeches, plenty of champagne and canapes made for a very enjoyable evening. Rumours have it that we even threw some serious shapes on the dance floor!

Great fun! And I must say, those boys scrub up well, don’t they?

New HQ!

After several months of very hard work, Kingfisher are delighted to now be operating from our new 1200 sq ft production space located in rural Bedfordshire, right by Whipsnade Zoo and just 15 minutes from Junction 9 of the M1. Builders, suppliers and our basic painting skills have made this space truly ours and has made us all very proud.

Our new kitchens represent the next exciting chapter in the development of Kingfisher as one of the region’s leading event caterers specialising in providing high quality catering for weddings, private events, corporate events and business lunches. (We have also just had our first Christening booking from one of our first couples wedding that we catered for!)

As well as a larger production facility, we can now offer all prospective new clients an opportunity to come into our new kitchens and watch first hand, our head chef John, prepare those meals, along with the opportunity for us to discuss their day in more detail and give them the professional personal service they are looking for.

We are all so proud of what we have achieved over the last few years and with a diary for the coming 9 months bursting at the seams, we know we are getting it right!

And now John has his new equipment! . . . Who knows where that will take us!
