Saturday we catered for the lovely Liz & Ross at Hexton Manor. Although our last consecutive wedding of a long season, we pulled out all the stops as usual to give them a day and food to remember. Starting with canapes and champagnes served outside the house, followed by a three course dinner which left everyone feeling very full indeed! John and David worked their magic in the kitchen to produce a split starter of ham hock terrine and tomato, red chilli and garlic soup, followed by a choice of braised lamb shank with all the trimmings or chicken breast with a warm chorizo, green bean and butternut salad or caramelised onion & Gruyere tartlet with baby ratatouille. If that wasn’t enough, desserts followed of profiteroles with white & dark chocolate sauce and lemon & raspberry posset with ginger bread.
Lots of personal touches from Liz lined the marquee, from 1000 origami cranes hung from the ceiling bring good luck to the couple to some very special favours with charitable donations, these also meant a lot to lots of the guests.
And if that wasn’t enough Liz came and helped John carve the hog which we served in the evening! Great day for everyone!
