Tipi’s & Pie’s

Another fabulous wedding on Saturday, with lovely family and friends, to celebrate the marriage of Steve & Alice. With Tipi’s in Alice’s parents beautiful home in Waldenbury, the setting couldn’t of been more perfect.

After a soggy set up on the Friday we arrived early Saturday to convert their garage into a mobile kitchen, but with the sun sun shining and everything dried out we soon had it all set up perfectly!
After a ceremony besides the lake at St Paul’s the guests arrived to Prosecco and Pimms and delicious canapes. Enjoying the beautiful gardens and afternoon sunshine, their was lots of laughter and great photographs being taken.

Moving into the Tipi, we served them with John’s homemade pies of British beef and ale, chicken, leek & smoked bacon and butternut & goats cheese; all served with Welsh cheese mash & seasonal vegetables; they smelt delicious, how does he make pastry so well?!
Desserts were supplied by their Auntie of strawberry shortcake served with berries and cream.

The wine flowed, the band was superb, with everyone dancing the night away, it was a memorable day enjoyed by all. Another pleasurable family for us to be looking after, another successful day!

Perfect day for a beautiful wedding

Saturday was the most glorious day, with the sun shinning across the beautiful grounds and lake at St Paul’s Waldenbury, it was the perfect setting for Elizabeth and Andy’s wedding reception.

Almost 200 guests arrived to a champagne and Pimms reception complete with our signature canapés. With Elizabeth being a teacher their MOC, a great friend, dressed as an old headmaster complete with hand bell and cane and soon had the photographs taken and the guests seated for their meal! It was very amusing! I almost wish I could have him every week!
Once seated we served them with starters of ham hock terrine, mini cheese scones, sage butter, candied apple purée with sea salt crackling; followed by main course of Sirloin of Beef, blue cheese dauphinoise, tender stem broccoli, green beans, baby carrots and Madeira jus.

A trio of desserts followed of raspberry & caramelised pistachio creme brûlée, rhubarb crumble tartlet with creme anglaise and Eton mess, blossom honey, strawberry shortcake.

Tea, coffee and petit fours and champagne with very funny speeches followed. The guests moved out to enjoy the grounds, but once the band got going, everyone returned to party the night away.
A great day enjoyed by everyone with a lovely review on our Facebook page already!

A first successful day at a Beechwood Park

Kingfisher have recently become the sole caterer for all weddings held here at Beechwood Park. A fabulous venue which gives the exclusive use of this fine, Grade 1 listed mansion, the entrance hall, drawing room, Great Hall and gardens make a marvellous backdrop for and presents charming photo opportunities.
With no pressure to deliver on our first one at this new venue, Ian, Dan and the team arrived early to ensure all was set up for Charlotte & Ben’s special day.

With the sun shining the guests were greeted outside the magnificent entrance with Prosecco, Pimms & canapés of mini yorkie pud, beef fillet, horseradish and watercress cream; Quails egg, cauliflower purée, black onion seed; asparagus, Proscuitto, and hollandaise.

The MOC then called the guests into the Great Hall with a standing ovation for bride & groom for their wedding breakfast. Dan & the kitchen team worked hard to ensure the KF standard and presentation of all plates that we strive to deliver at every event,
For starters they had Crab, avocado, prawn tuna, lemon & parsley mayo, pickled cucumber with bloody Mary dressing, delicious!

Followed by the main course of a Rump of a Lamb, mint dauphinoise, pistachios, savoy cabbage, peas, baby carrots and lamb jus.
And to finish a KF signature dish of sticky toffee, salted caramel sauce & clotted cream. The guests loved the food and all plates came back empty, a good sign for us in the kitchen!

Lots of wine flowed, cake cutting and a special first dance completed the formality of the day, then the guests relaxed and enjoyed the music and the bar and partied into the evening.
A successful day for all of us here at Kingfisher and a successful partnership with us and Beechwood Park.
But most importantly an absolute pleasure it share Charlotte & Ben’s day!
